How do I write my story?

There are many ways you can be inspired when you begin to write.
Let's just discuss the outline of your story within your journal, and then from there, you should be able to fill the pages with all sorts of information.

Introduction: Please tell us who you are. Where did you come from. Tell us a little bit about your family and the life you have left behind in Europe. I want to read dates, places, times. Names of people and something interesting about  what is important to your character

Second Paragraph: Tell us about your trip.  What is the boat like? Who is on it. Did you make friends? Did you get sick? Did you witness something you wished you hadn't. What were the people like? How do you feel about it?

Third Paragraph: Tell us about coming to America and seeing the Statue of Liberty for the first time. What was inspections like? Did people get turned away? Who were they? How was the Moms and Dads and children and Grandparents treated? How did that make you feel?

Fourth Paragraph: What did you accomplish the first few weeks when you landed in this country. Is it what you expected? Did you make new friends? Tell us about your journey. If you make up information, please use facts from the time period. Meaning, I want you to describe what the train stations look like. What was your transportation, if any? How did people dress and talk? What did they eat? How were people living? What animals did you see, if any? What kind of food did you eat, or could you eat? What were the stores and hotels like? What did the streets look like? The neighborhoods? All of these interesting details must come from your research.

Conclude your story: Tell us an interesting fact that will end your story. Describe what your goals are. Are you going to travel West and work your own farm, or are you going to travel to the big cities like Chicago and live there? How will you make a living? Let your imagination take us on an interesting journey. This is your journal, and we want to re live every moment along with you! Have fun.
